Living Well Bromley is a community-focused organisation dedicated to improving the wellbeing of residents across the Bromley borough. Through a range of health, social care, and support services, they aim to empower individuals to lead healthier, more independent lives. Their team operates across multiple locations and relies heavily on digital tools to deliver services efficiently and securely.
Living Well Bromley faced significant challenges in managing the security and continuity of their IT infrastructure. Laptops, desktops, and mobile devices lacked centralised security policies and update management, leaving them vulnerable to threats. Additionally, their Microsoft 365 environment was not backed up, meaning that in the event of data corruption or accidental deletion, critical emails, SharePoint files, and folders could not be recovered. This posed a serious risk to operational continuity and data integrity, especially in a disaster recovery scenario. Without a robust backup and security strategy, the organisation was exposed to potential data loss and compliance issues.
To address these vulnerabilities, Qlic IT implemented a comprehensive solution focused on device security, data protection, and operational resilience. The project began with the configuration and deployment of Microsoft Intune across 15 devices, enabling centralised management of security policies, updates, and compliance settings. Following this, Datto Backupify was set up to provide automated backups for Microsoft 365, including SharePoint and user mailboxes. User confirmation was coordinated with the organisation to ensure appropriate coverage.
Once Intune was fully deployed, antivirus software was installed on all devices to enhance endpoint protection. Device encryption was also configured to safeguard sensitive data in the event of loss or theft. In parallel, Living Well Bromley was in the process of upgrading several devices to Windows Pro, ensuring compatibility with the new security infrastructure. Where devices were due for replacement, photos were requested to guide engineers and ensure expectations were met during installation. This multi-layered approach significantly strengthened the organisation’s IT resilience and data security posture.
Living Well Bromley now benefits from a secure, centrally managed IT environment. All devices are protected with encryption and antivirus, and updates are deployed consistently via Intune. The implementation of Datto Backupify ensures that critical Microsoft 365 data is backed up and recoverable, providing peace of mind in the event of accidental deletion or system failure. Staff can work confidently knowing their data is secure and recoverable, and the organisation has significantly reduced its risk exposure. The upgrade to Windows Pro further enhances compatibility and performance across devices, supporting long-term operational efficiency.
