The Challenge
Daybreak handles highly sensitive family data, making security a top priority. With growing compliance requirements, the organisation sought to strengthen its security posture without disrupting daily operations. The Approach
We carried out a full review of their Microsoft 365 environment and implemented key security enhancements. Conditional Access policies were enforced to ensure only authorised users could access resources. Microsoft Defender was enabled for advanced threat protection, while anti-phishing, anti-malware, and anti-spam policies were updated to block email-based attacks. A quarantine policy was introduced, global settings refined, and user consent settings tightened to prevent unauthorised app permissions. Data sensitivity labels were applied to safeguard confidential information, and company branding was added for secure communication. We also disabled Outlook add-ins, restricted external calendar sharing, and implemented BYOD app protection for secure access on personal devices. These measures collectively strengthened their security posture and reduced vulnerabilities.
The Results
Daybreak now operates in a highly secure Microsoft 365 environment. Sensitive data is better protected, compliance standards are met, and the risk of breaches has been significantly reduced. Staff enjoy seamless security controls that do not hinder productivity. This proactive approach ensures Daybreak remains a trusted partner in family support services.
