Give A Gift is a UK‑based not‑for‑profit organisation supporting communities and individuals through charitable initiatives. To operate effectively, the organisation depends on secure communication, shared documentation and reliable access to systems. As its services expanded, Give A Gift identified the need for a modern, secure IT platform to support collaboration, protect sensitive data and improve operational resilience.
Give A Gift initiated a review of its IT environment to address growing security and operational risks. The existing setup relied on fragmented services, limited central management and legacy email platforms, which made administration complex and increased exposure to cyber threats.
The organisation required a new Microsoft 365 not‑for‑profit tenant and the migration of all existing email services into a single, unified platform. During discovery, an additional email source was identified, adding complexity and requiring careful planning to ensure continuity of service.
Several devices were also running Windows editions that restricted the use of modern device management and Conditional Access. Improving Microsoft Secure Score, strengthening endpoint security and implementing reliable backup solutions were key objectives.
We delivered a structured, security‑first transformation aligned with Microsoft best practice for not‑for‑profit organisations. A new Microsoft 365 tenant was deployed to provide a secure and scalable foundation with appropriate governance and licensing.
SharePoint was implemented to create a centralised document management and collaboration platform, improving accessibility and version control. Microsoft Intune was introduced to enable modern device management, enforce security policies and support Conditional Access. To support this, devices were upgraded from Windows Home to Windows Pro.
Email services were carefully migrated and consolidated into Microsoft 365 to ensure a seamless transition with minimal disruption. When the additional email source was identified, the scope was extended to include DNS access, mail routing and full consolidation.
Security was further strengthened through the deployment of Sophos Antivirus and Encryption, alongside DATTO backups. Improvements to Microsoft Secure Score were implemented, with Conditional Access configured to enhance identity and access protection.
Give A Gift now operates on a secure, modern Microsoft 365 platform that supports collaboration, productivity and resilience. Email services are fully consolidated, simplifying administration and improving reliability.
SharePoint has improved document control and collaboration, while Intune provides centralised visibility and control over devices. The move to Windows Pro and Conditional Access has significantly reduced security risk.
With endpoint protection, encryption and robust backups in place, Give A Gift benefits from improved cyber‑security and greater confidence in its ability to recover from incidents, allowing the organisation to focus on its charitable mission.
