About Endometriosis UK
Endometriosis UK, are the UK’s leading charity for all those affected by endometriosis, determined to ensure that everyone gets prompt diagnosis and the best treatment and support. They work to break down barriers to access – wherever endometriosis impacts on lives. They are a powerful voice for those with endometriosis, driving up care standards across the UK.
The endometriosis community is at the heart of all that do. They lead collaboratively across their community, acting to inform, empower and advocate for all those affected by the condition.
They fight to make change happen for everyone with endometriosis, to end chronic menstrual related pain being brushed off as normal, and raise awareness of endometriosis and menstrual health with policy makers, employers and healthcare practitioners.
They are knowledgeable, inclusive, compassionate, bold and work with integrity. We live these, their organisational values, in everything they do, and expect everyone they work with to respect and uphold the same principles.
Endometriosis' Challenges
Their latest diagnosis survey shows that it currently takes on average 9 years and 4 months to get a diagnosis of endometriosis in the UK – this is absolutely shocking and shows the real need of Endometriosis UK to work with partners to help drive this down. Not only can endometriosis impact people’s physical health, but it can impact every areas of someones life including mental health, employment and relationships.
From a practical perspective, a challenge is reaching the demand of patients. Their nurse led helpline which is run by a team of endometriosis specialist nurses is always operating at full capacity, with appointments always booked up for the month ahead. They are looking at ways of expanding their helpline to ensure that more patients are reached and we can support even more people affected by the disease.
Endometriosis' Achievements
They believe in a world where endometriosis is recognised and understood, and where the condition does not limit people’s lives.
They believe that everyone with endometriosis in the UK has the right to appropriate, high quality treatment regardless of background, identity, location or circumstance.
They believe everyone currently living with endometriosis should have the best care as a result of new developments in treatment, and that proactive research is vital to finding the cause and, one day, a cure for the condition.
One of their biggest achievements is their incredible support services – including a nurse led helpline that launched in January 2025, and recently celebrated its one year anniversary. You can find out more here.

Their most recent annual report also highlights the impact of our work.
In campaigning, they have achieved huge strides in raising awareness about endometriosis.
In March alone, there were 800 pieces of news coverage discussing endometriosis – and this goes a long way in raising awareness of endometriosis, the symptoms, and its impact with the general public and Governments. Endometriosis also prominently features in government health policy, thanks to the work of Endometriosis UK and the endometriosis community.
