Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is a charity that provides support, accommodation and opportunities for people seeking to rebuild their lives. The organisation relies on technology to support day-to-day operations, communication and service delivery across its facilities. Reliable network connectivity is essential to ensure staff, volunteers and services can operate efficiently and remain connected.
As technology requirements continue to evolve, Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland recognised the need to enhance its wireless network infrastructure. The existing environment required a modern solution capable of delivering dependable connectivity, supporting organisational operations and providing a foundation for future growth.
The organisation required a straightforward deployment process that would minimise disruption while ensuring new equipment was installed quickly and effectively. It was important that the solution provided improved wireless performance, centralised management capabilities and sufficient capacity to support connected devices throughout the site.
Additionally, the project needed to be delivered efficiently, with equipment configured in advance and prepared for installation before arriving on-site. This approach would help streamline deployment and ensure the organisation could begin benefiting from the upgraded infrastructure as quickly as possible.
To deliver the project efficiently, all equipment was fully configured and tested prior to dispatch, reducing installation complexity and helping ensure a smooth deployment experience.
The solution included the provision of a DrayTek 2763ac router to provide reliable internet connectivity and network management. To support wireless access requirements, a Ubiquiti U7-Pro UniFi Tri-Band WiFi 7 Access Point was supplied, offering high-performance wireless connectivity designed to support modern devices and increasing bandwidth demands.
To provide robust network connectivity throughout the environment, a Ubiquiti USW-24-POE switch was also deployed. The Power over Ethernet capability enabled streamlined connectivity and power delivery for the access point whilst supporting future infrastructure expansion requirements.
Prior to deployment, network settings and device configurations were prepared and validated to ensure all equipment was ready for implementation on arrival. Once dispatched, the installation was coordinated remotely in partnership with the installation team, allowing the solution to be deployed efficiently while minimising disruption to operations.
This approach enabled the organisation to benefit from a professionally configured solution without the delays often associated with on-site configuration and troubleshooting.
The completed project delivered a modernised wireless networking environment that provides reliable and consistent connectivity across the site.
By introducing new network infrastructure, Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland now benefits from improved wireless performance, enhanced network management capabilities and a solution designed to support both current and future connectivity requirements. The new infrastructure provides a stronger foundation for everyday operations and helps ensure users can access the services and resources they require without interruption.
The pre-configuration approach helped simplify deployment and enabled a smooth implementation process, reducing downtime and ensuring the new equipment was operational quickly. The organisation also benefited from a more scalable network platform, making it easier to accommodate future technology requirements as its needs evolve.
With modern networking equipment and a professionally managed deployment process, Emmaus Leicestershire & Rutland is well positioned to maintain dependable connectivity and support its ongoing operational objectives.
