Case Study
The Organisation

Home Start Elmbridge is a community focused charity providing emotional and practical support to families with young children. Their mission is to help parents through challenging periods by offering non‑judgemental assistance delivered by trained volunteers and coordinators. Covering a wide area, the organisation relies on dependable communication and connectivity to coordinate home visits, manage referrals and ensure families receive timely guidance and support.

The Challenge

We recommended a broadband only upgrade that would give Home Start Elmbridge a more dependable and resilient connectivity solution without introducing unnecessary complexity. By focusing purely on the broadband service, we ensured the organisation received improved speed, stability and performance tailored to their operational needs.
Our team managed the transition by assessing the existing infrastructure, arranging a seamless changeover and verifying that the new service delivered consistent results across all devices used by staff. We also ensured that the equipment provided was suitable for charity operations, offering reliable Wi‑Fi coverage throughout the premises and accommodating the use of digital tools, online communication and cloud based services.
To support long term stability, we provided ongoing monitoring and support so that any potential issues could be addressed promptly. This meant staff could focus fully on their core work supporting families rather than troubleshooting their connection. The broadband only solution delivered a straightforward but highly effective improvement that aligned directly with the organisation’s needs and budget.

The Approach

We delivered a complete migration to the Elevate VoIP system, ensuring that Metabolic Support UK could move to a cloud based communication platform designed for flexibility and resilience. The project began with a thorough review of their current telephony environment and an understanding of the charity’s support workflows. This allowed us to design a setup that aligned with operational teams and mirrored the structure of the services they provide.
A carefully planned migration strategy was developed to ensure a smooth transition. User profiles, extensions, call flows and voicemail settings were prepared in advance, and compatibility with existing devices and infrastructure was verified before deployment. We conducted staff training sessions that focused on the everyday use of the system, including softphone functionality, call handling and voicemail access across multiple devices.
Once the system went live, we worked with the organisation to refine call routing, ensuring that families and partners were directed quickly to the appropriate support services. Ongoing monitoring and support were provided to guarantee stability, optimise performance and ensure the charity could take full advantage of the features within the Elevate platform.

The Results

Following the upgrade, Home Start Elmbridge experienced a significant improvement in connectivity and overall digital performance. Staff were able to access key systems more quickly, manage referrals efficiently and communicate with colleagues and external partners without disruption. The stable broadband connection supported remote collaboration, video calls and online case management tools, helping the team work more effectively across community based and office based roles.
The organisation also benefited from reduced downtime and greater confidence in their digital environment. With a reliable broadband service in place, staff could focus on delivering essential family support services rather than managing IT issues. The upgrade provided a strong foundation for future digital development and ensured Home Start Elmbridge could continue operating smoothly as demand for its services grows.

Key Outcomes

Trust Us to Deliver

As a charity in serviced offices with an IT support system that had been inherited and been in place for a number of years transferring IT was a big decision.  It was agreed that the offer from Qlic was a good one, several people warning of some disruption!!  What can I say the transfer was seamless with minimum disruption.  Additionally we have reduced IT costs which is great especially in the current funding climate.
