Current AI is an international charity focused on supporting responsible, secure and effective use of artificial intelligence. With its main operations in France and staff working across several countries, the organisation relies on flexible cloud platforms, secure devices and consistent IT support to enable collaboration, growth and day-to-day productivity across a distributed workforce.
Current AI was reviewing its IT support arrangements to ensure it had a provider capable of supporting a fast-growing international organisation. With staff spread across multiple countries and further growth planned, the charity needed a more consistent approach to support, security, device provisioning and platform management.
The organisation was already using a combination of Google Workspace and Egnyte, alongside other services, and wanted clear advice on how best to simplify its IT environment where appropriate. Key considerations included secure laptop setup and international shipping, stronger endpoint protection, managed detection and response, security awareness training, and access to specialist consultancy. Current AI also needed a partner who could support a primarily English-speaking workforce across different locations, time zones and working patterns.
We worked with Current AI to provide a structured onboarding and support approach built around security, scalability and practical day-to-day service delivery. The first priority was to establish a managed IT support model that could support the organisation’s international workforce, with clear routes for users to access help and options for broader service coverage as the organisation continues to grow.
As part of the onboarding, Sophos Managed Detection and Response was deployed to strengthen endpoint security and provide proactive monitoring against potential threats. This gave the organisation an enterprise-grade security layer designed to improve visibility, reduce risk and support a more mature security posture across its devices.
We also included Bigger Brains training as part of the onboarding programme, giving staff access to digital skills and security awareness resources. This supports adoption, productivity and safer working practices, particularly for new starters and users working remotely.
Alongside the core support and security work, we reviewed Current AI’s wider platform landscape, including Google Workspace and Egnyte. The aim was to provide practical best practice advice on licensing, administration and potential consolidation opportunities, helping the organisation reduce unnecessary complexity while retaining the tools that support its operational needs.
The engagement also covered website hosting migration and advice around secure device provisioning, including laptop configuration, encryption requirements and international logistics. This created a clearer foundation for onboarding staff securely and consistently, regardless of location.
Current AI gained a more joined-up IT support arrangement aligned with the needs of a growing international charity. By bringing managed support, security, training, hosting migration and consultancy into one service relationship, the organisation reduced operational complexity and gained clearer accountability for key IT services.
The deployment of Sophos MDR strengthened endpoint protection and improved the organisation’s ability to detect and respond to potential threats. Bigger Brains training added a practical layer of user education, supporting digital confidence, onboarding and security awareness across the team.
The review of Google Workspace, Egnyte and related licensing gave Current AI clearer guidance on where systems could be simplified or better managed. The organisation also gained a more structured approach to device provisioning and international support, helping staff get set up securely and consistently.
Overall, the project created a stronger, more scalable IT foundation for Current AI’s future growth, with improved security, better service consistency and a clearer route for ongoing technical advice.
