Christian Family Concern is a UK based charity supporting families and communities through a range of outreach and care services. With staff working across multiple locations, the organisation relies on secure and reliable technology to communicate effectively and manage sensitive information. As operations expanded, a more modern and scalable IT solution was required.
Christian Family Concern was operating across a fragmented IT estate, with email hosted externally and limited centralised control over users, devices, and data. This created inefficiencies in daily operations and reduced visibility across the organisation.
Security was a key consideration due to the nature of the data being handled. Without a unified platform, it was difficult to apply consistent protections and enforce best practice policies.
Devices were also inconsistent, with a mixture of operating systems and older hardware impacting performance and compatibility. The organisation required a solution that would improve collaboration, strengthen security, and provide centralised management while remaining cost effective.
We delivered a structured transformation for Christian Family Concern, centred on Microsoft 365 to unify systems and improve both security and efficiency.
The project began with gaining access to the existing tenant and migrating 12 mailboxes from an external provider to Microsoft Exchange Online, establishing a centralised and reliable email platform.
Licensing was optimised using not for profit allocations, including Microsoft 365 Business Premium and Business Basic. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 and Entra ID P1 were implemented to enhance identity protection and email security.
A Secure Score improvement project was completed, introducing best practice configurations such as multi factor authentication, access controls, and threat protection policies.
Microsoft Intune was deployed to enable centralised device management, allowing consistent configuration, compliance policies, and simplified support. Endpoint protection was also implemented to strengthen device level security.
Backup solutions were introduced to protect both user data and SharePoint, ensuring information can be recovered if required.
Device upgrades were completed, including moving systems to professional editions and Windows 11, alongside the deployment of new desktop hardware.
Collaboration tools such as SharePoint were configured, and operational improvements including scan to email were implemented to support day to day activities.
Christian Family Concern now operates on a fully unified Microsoft 365 platform, bringing together email, collaboration, security, and device management into a single environment.
Communication and collaboration have improved through centralised services, enabling staff to work more efficiently across locations. Security posture has been significantly strengthened, with improved protection across identities, email, and devices.
Centralised device management has reduced complexity and improved visibility, making it easier to maintain and support systems. Upgraded devices and modern operating systems have enhanced performance and reliability for users.
Backup solutions now provide confidence that critical organisational data is protected and recoverable.
Overall, Christian Family Concern now benefits from a secure, scalable, and efficient IT environment that supports both current operations and future growth.
